He also is resigningy the presidencyof Children’s foundation, a position he has held sinc 2008. Oxendale, who was traveling Tuesday was notimmediately available. He joined the hospitap 14 years ago asits CFO. He became COO in 2000 and replaced Ron Violi as presiden t and CEOin 2005. Oxendale dropped the president title when he took the post at the foundationhlast year. Children’s spokesman Marc Lucasiak said the organization will be conductinb a search to fill the foundation positiojn but will not continue theCEO post.
Christophetr Gessner will continue to serve as presidengtof Children’s Hospital. He was appointed in 2008 after eight years as chiefoperating Children’s in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood May 2. It launched a $100 milliohn capital campaign last fall to help payfor it.
