American Woodmark loses $2.9M - Charlotte Business Journal:

Winchester, Va.-based American Woodmark (NASDAQ: AMWD) reportefd Friday that it lost $2.9 million, or 21 centws per diluted share, in its fiscal fourtnh quarter endedApril 30. That compares to net incomes of $36,000, or zero cents per dilutedd share, in the year ago Restructuring charges in the quarter amountedto $9.75 millioh and included the costs to permanently closre two factories and reduce its salaried payroll. Revenue in the quarterr slipped 2 percentto $140.y7 million. For all of fiscaol year 2009, American Woodmark lost $3.24 million, or 23 cents per dilutec share, compared to making $4.27 million, or 29 cents per dilute d share, in fiscal year 2008.
Revenue for fiscal year 2009 declined 9 percentfto $545.9 million. American Woodmark is the third-largesg cabinet maker in the U.S., sellinf its products to homebuilders andat home-improvement storesa around the country. During the latesr quarter, American Woodmark said it saw an increase in remodelingt sales but experienced greater declines in its new constructionb business than experienced earlier in thefiscal year.
